VAHS Chapter at the Warrenton- Fauquier Airport Warbirds Weekend
VAHS Chapter at the Warrenton- Fauquier Airport Warbirds Weekend this past 15- 16 July 2023.
Best figures for combined attendance over the two days is 130- 150 persons. Warbird rides given over the two days was approximately 48 rides.
Additionally, rides were given on a refurbished Russian side-car motorcycle of the type used in the WW II – Cold War!
Present on display and/ or giving rides were 8 aircraft from the Golden Age of Aviation to WW II and the current age. The Comemorative Air Force from Culpeper, VA provided the warbirds, ground troop reenactments, and other displays.
The Warrenton- Fauquier Airport Booster Club provided food and refreshments for all.
Director Dave Huss of the Warrenton- Fauquier Airport and his dedicated staff ensured the safety and enjoyment of all visiting the event.
A featured visitor to the event was ” Daisy the Wonder Dog.” Daisy is Blue Heeler Cattle Dog from Australian ancestry. She not only herds cattle, but she ” sings” in accompaniment to
” Waltzing Matilda!”
