Invitation to Hall of Fame Portrait Display Dedication for Dr. Gladys Mae West
Fellow VAHS Members,
You are cordially invited to attend the dedication of the display of Dr. Gladys Mae West’s Virginia Aviation Hall of Fame photographic portrait at the Dahlgren Heritage Museum on Wednesday October 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon The museum address is 3540 James Madison Parkway (Rte 301), King George, Virginia, 22485. The museum is a pleasant/scenic 40 minute drive from Fredericksburg.
Dr. West’s daughter will attend and answer questions about her mother’s life and 42 year career at the Dahlgren Naval Surface Warfare Center. Light refreshments will be served.
Lunch at a nice waterside restaurant in Dahlgren is optional after the ceremony.

I have attached satellite map photos depicting the museum location. The exit is just before the Governor Harry Nice Memorial Bridge (Rte 301 Potomac River Bridge). There is a left turn lane at the exit where you can make a U turn and double back to the museum entrance on your right. The exit will sneak up on you. If you miss it, you’re going to Maryland. There is a sign for the museum, but it does not jump out at you.
