Warbird Showcase Cancelled this Weekend
The following is an email sent to Capital Wing Commemorative Air Force Members:
Weather conditions are forecast to be below minimums required for Warbird Rides this weekend, so we have reluctantly decided to cancel the scheduled Warbird Showcase this Saturday and Sunday April 10 and 11 at the Culpeper Regional Airport. Our number one goal is always the safety of our aircrews and the public flying Warbird Rides. Without the required minimum weather conditions, we don’t fly. It’s that simple.
So … please do not plan on coming to the hangar this weekend for the Warbird Showcase.
However, if you are going to be at the hangar for maintenance or other work this Saturday or Sunday, please be on the lookout for those who show up because they didn’t get the message that we’re cancelled. Rather than just turn them away, take the opportunity to show them around the hangar, let them get close to our warbirds, and tell them they can get a warbird ride in the Stinson L-5 or the TBM Avenger at one of our future Warbird Showcase events. Just have them get in touch with me at CapitalWingCAF@gmail.com and I’ll see they get all the information they need.
The next Warbird Showcase will be on Saturday and Sunday May 22 and 23 at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport in Warrenton, VA. And the Showcase tour will return to Culpeper on Independence Day weekend July 3 and 4. Five other cities are also on the schedule this year. We’ll need member support at all of these events. More details as we get closer to the events dates.
In the meantime, continue to recruit new members, talk up our Warbird Showcase events to your family, friends and neighbors, and do your part to keep the Capital Wing growing!
