STALLION 51’S LEE LAUDERBACK RETURNS TO OSHKOSH AIRVENTURE 2021
Stallion 51’s Lee Lauderback is returning to Oshkosh’s AirVenture 2021! Lee Lauderback is the highest time Mustang pilot in the world and is the founder and chief pilot for Stallion 51’s, who offer flight training in their dual cockpit-dual control Mustangs. Lee will be flying Stallion 51’s 1944 Mustang, “Crazy Horse 2” over 1000 miles from Stallion 51 in Kissimmee, Florida to Oshkosh to participate in the July 26- August 1st Airshow.
AirVenture returns after a year hiatus due to the pandemic and has been greatly anticipated by aviation enthusiasts; it will be a spectacular event as the aviation world celebrates the freedom of flying and aviation history. 2020 marked the 75th anniversary of WWII but because of last years cancellation, EAA AirVenture was not able to give it the attention such a date deserved. EAA is making up for lost time and “this year the aviation story of WWII will be told through special flying activities during the week long air event. The afternoon airshows on Friday and Saturday, July 30-31, will feature programs that chronologically recollect aviation history during WWII. Spanning from the US involvement in the Eagle Squadron and AVG Flying Tigers prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor, through the B-25 Doolittle Raid and the major aerial battles in Europe and the Pacific and the eventual celebrations of V-E and VK Day.” The Mustang participated in every theater of WWII from the B-17 and B-24 bombing runs over Europe to escorting the B-29s in the Pacific, the P-51 was in the thick of it.
Lee Lauderback will be honoring the P-51s significant contributions to the allies winning the war during his signature Solo Mustang Demonstration on Friday and Saturday, July 30-31 airshow along with many other significant WWII fighters and bombers. Lee will also be flying his signature routine during Wednesday’s Airshow. Check out EAA AirVenture’s website for the latest information on events and schedules. https://www.eaa.org/airventure
