Museum in DC to Reopen October 14

The Museum will reopen half of its location on the National Mall Friday, October 14. This includes the following eight galleries:
- America by Air.
- Destination Moon
- Early Flight
- Kenneth C. Griffin Exploring the Planets
- Nation of Speed
- One World Connected
- Thomas W. Haas We All Fly
- Wright Brothers and the Invention of the Aerial Age
Hundreds of artifacts that are new to the building will be on display, including the T-38 flown by Jackie Cochrane when she became the first woman to break the sound barrier, and the Sharp DR 90 Nemesis, the most successful aircraft in air racing history.
Favorite artifacts will also be presented in new settings, including the 1903 Wright Flyer and Neil Armstrong’s Apollo 11 spacesuit.
