Rest In Peace Captain Sir Tom Moore
(1920-2021)
“You’ve got to remember that we shall win through this rather difficult time, fighting the invisible enemy and whatever happens, given time, it might be very difficult for some people. But remember that at the end of the day, we shall win through, and the sun will shine and the clouds will roll away, and at the end of the day, we shall be all fine.” – Captain Sir Tom Moore
Moore, a 100-year-old WWII veteran, raised almost $45 million (£33 million) by walking laps in his garden last year to raise money for the UK National Health Services COVID-19 virus relief effort. He tested positive for the virus and was take to hospital on Sunday after being treated for breathing complications due to pneumonia.
His devotion to service and to others, is a just another testament to how his generation won the moniker “the Greatest Generation.”
