Pilot taken to hospital after plane crashes in Buckhannon area

The pilot of a single-engine plane was taken to the hospital after the aircraft crashed Saturday in the Buckhannon area, a spokesperson for the Buckhannon Fire Department said.
Lt. Tanner Smith with the fire department described the pilot’s injuries as non-life threatening. There was no one else onboard the aircraft.
The plane crashed about 6:30 p.m. in a field. A post on the fire department’s Facebook page said the incident incident happened near Hall and Industrial Park roads.
There was no fire at the scene.
Agencies responding included the Buckhannon Fire Department, Upshur County EMS, the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office and West Virginia State Police.
Smith estimated crews were at the scene about an hour and a half.
State Police said the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.

West Virginia State Police confirmed on Saturday that there has been a plane crash in the Buckhannon area.
No other details were immediately available about how many people were on the plane or whether there were any injuries or fatalities.
The Buckhannon Fire Department said in a Facebook post about 6:30 p.m. that multiple emergency response units were at the scene of a downed aircraft in the area of Hall and Industrial Park roads.
