VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — This year, the NAS Oceana Air Show is celebrating trailblazing female aviators, five decades after they first made history in the Navy.

The first six female Naval aviators, aptly called “The First Six,” earned their Wings of Gold in 1973, according to the Navy. The show will pay tribute to the female Naval Aviators who’ve made a lasting impact in the military over the past 50 years.

The Navy’s premiere flight demonstration team, the Blue Angels, the F-35C II Lightning Demonstration Team and the F-22 Raptor Demonstration team will be featured in the show.

The show is happening on September 16 and 17, and premium tickets are now on sale. General admission is still free.
