Federal funds help Virginia’s airports

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Virginia airports are receiving funding for infrastructure improvements.

“Investing in infrastructure at airports is extremely important because airports are the lifeblood of their communities,” Heather Ream with Shenandoah Valley Airport said Thursday, February 15.

Shenandoah Valley Airport will get more than $1 million, and says it has some projects planned.

“An extension of our air carrier apron, an extension of taxiway K for phase 2 of our Shenandoah Aviation Technology Park, and then the rehabilitation of our vehicle parking lot,” Ream said.
