Warrenton- Fauquier Airport will be holding its annual Fly-In
FOLKS, The forecast is for wet weather on Saturday afternoon, but we are launching into the HWY FLY-IN rain or shine. You may need to drive-in, but the FAA (FAAST) Safety Briefs will continue, the raffles (including AVGAS) will be out (need not be present at drawing to win) and the Passport Stamps will be inked and ready. The Booster Club has the grills ready, and lunch prepped. All proceeds on Saturday go to the HWY Booster Club. Come spend the day with us, or even 2 hours. We look forward to seeing you and hearing your flying stories. Be sure to thank the various volunteers who will make your day fun.
We just received a new Truck-load of AVGAS, and the cost is again going up. The new price ($6.50/gal) goes into effect on Monday, so come fill your tanks this weekend.
I’ve had word of a couple of “Hangar Sales” (just the contents, not the hangars) here at HWY coming soon, so watch for further details right here. Hangars always have hidden treasures just awaiting those who appreciate surprises.
Our Airport hosted and experienced a ‘Dog-Day-Afternoon’ last weekend. 77 Rescue Dogs (and 1 Kitten) from Texas arrived in a Cessna Caravan and were distributed to new Virginia owners. All but 7 had pre-arranged adoptions ready to go. I haven’t seen so many tails wagging since Tail-Wheel Endorsement Day! See photos.
Knock the rust off, circulate the oil and feel the lift with a day of flying. Fill-up those Virginia Aviation Ambassador Passports. The southern border of Virginia hosts a large number of unique and interesting air-strips just awaiting your arrival. Have you been to Ingalls (Hot Springs) yet? That Stamp should be in gold ink….
We will see you on Saturday. Come and mingle, volunteer or just come look important. As long as you are smiling, we will be happy as well.
