Culpeper Regional Airport Annual Air Fest – CANCELLED
October 10 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Culpeper Regional Airport Annual Air Fest has been cancelled!
The Culpeper Air Fest Committee today announced that it has decided to cancel this year’s Culpeper Air Fest, which was slated for October.
Steve Nixon, chairman of the committee, said in a news release, “Due to the pandemic, the committee could not in good conscience pursue funding like we have in the past with so many local businesses being affected by closures or operating at reduced capacity. We are also very concerned about a possible reoccurrence of Covid-19 in the fall. Without a vaccine currently available, we would not want to put anyone at risk at the largest annual gathering in Culpeper.
“We know that this is disappointing news to all of our fans, supporters, and to our community, but we will come back next year with a renewed enthusiasm to put on another fantastic air show for Culpeper and the surrounding area. To everyone, please stay safe and healthy during these times.”
Air Fest will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Culpeper Regional Airport. The event is organized to promote awareness and education for all segments of aviation. The event showcases model aircraft, warbirds, skydivers, aircraft maintenance and flight training, aerobatics and, of course, the only civilian owned Harrier in the world.
Other events during the Air Fest week include the NATA formation clinic, Potomac Flight, and STEM program. Sponsorships are available; see the website for more information.
Air Fest is sponsored by Culpeper Air Fest Foundation, Culpeper County Board of Supervisors, Chemung Contracting/Cedar Mt. Stone, Euro Composites, etc.
