STRAIGHT TALK WEBINAR FROM AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL
It’s not uncommon for pilots to have some fear of talking with Air Traffic Control (ATC). Many are worried about making a mistake or being judged by others on the frequency.
Not only is that the wrong attitude, it can also deprive you of valuable services and even compromise safety, say FAA officials.
“Controllers are humans just like pilots, and they’re actually there to help,” said officials with the FAA Safety Team.
That’s why the FAA is hosting a free webinar Thursday, May 14, 2020, featuring ATC Specialist Eddie Albert from Cincinnati Approach Control so pilots can learn what controllers expect from them, plus some tips for your next request to ATC.
Hosted by Eric Radtke of Sporty’s Academy, the webinar will consist of Q&A from attendee question submissions. After registering, you’ll be invited to submit your questions in advance of the presentation.
“This format and opportunity to hear directly from a controller is one you won’t want to miss, so register now to get the straight talk from ATC,” FAA officials said.
You can register at FAASafety.gov for the webinar, which begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
You can also sign up at Sportys.com.
The webinar counts as one credit for a WINGS Advanced Knowledge Topic 2.
