The team responsible for the annual NAS Oceana Airshow has formally cancelled the event for this year.  They posted the following notice on the NAS Oceana Airshow website:

We unfortunately have to announce the cancellation of the 2020 NAS Oceana Air Show due to public health risks associated with COVID-19. Although there are no plans to reschedule, we’re considering available options to bring the best of Naval Aviation to fans virtually.

“The air show brings aviation fans from all over the world each year,” said Capt. John Hewitt, Commanding Officer, NAS Oceana. “Unfortunately, the risks associated with large gatherings are too considerable to ensure absolute safety for our guests. While we won’t have the traditional show this year, we hope to still provide a unique experience virtually for our fans and our entire Hampton Roads community.”

Expect updates about the virtual NAS Oceana air show in the next few weeks.
