FAA ADJUSTS CONTROL TOWER HOURS AT TWO VIRGINIA AIRPORTS

Last week the FAA announced plans to temporarily reduce air traffic control tower hours at approximately 100 airports who have seen a significant reduction in flights, especially during the evening and nighttime hours since the pandemic began.

The list of 93 airports actually affected was released on April 27 and two of the airports on the list are in Virginia. Manassas Regional Airport and Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport will both have their air traffic control tower hours adjusted to 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The process of adjusting hours should be completed this week.
